Alanya is a popular region in the south-west of Turkey. It lies on the Mediterranean coast, 138 km from Antalya. Alanya has many historical monuments and natural attractions. The community called Oba is an area located 2 km from the centre of the city Alanya. And the (nearby) presence of large shopping centres like Koçtaş (hardware/home improvement store) Metro (wholesaler), Alanyum (shopping mall), make living in Oba comfortable.
Leisure here is also varied. You’ll find tennis courts, football fields, volleyball- and basketball courts. Oba’s beaches are certified with the Blue Flag and offer a perfect way to spend your holidays. For variety you can enjoy the coolness of the Oba River in one of the many restaurants alongside of it.

The river rises in the Toros Mountains and winds its way down to the Mediterranean. At the last few kilometres, the banks of the Dim River are dotted with restaurants. They offer delicious meals on floating rafts and refreshing river bathing. The Dimçay is the perfect place to cool down as the temperature of the water does not exceed 15 degrees.

Kestel can be described as a calm green area. It lies 9 km from Alanya.
Construction development in this area is allowed only recently. One of the conditions for obtaining a building permit was that project developers could not be built higher than 5 floors. Also there had to be a decent distance between the houses. Therefore, in Kestel, you will not see high complexes and “window to window” buildings.
The area is suitable for people who love nature and tranquillity. But, despite the quietness, the area is actively developing. New supermarkets, cafes, activity centres for children – all this is already available to residents of this small town. Transportation is also well developed and in 15 minutes you can be in the centre of Alanya and plunge into the city bustle. For lovers of outdoor activities there is a beautiful promenade, where you can ride a bike, run or just walk. In beach cafes you can always have a snack or quench your thirst. Every Wednesday the fruit and vegetable market is set up in Kestel where you can buy fresh products from local farmers.
Mahmutlar is a booming town just 12 km from the centre of Alanya. A large number of foreign nationals chose this area to invest in a home for holidays and permanent residence. Which is not surpising: Mahmutlar is a green and quiet area with a well-developed infrastructure. It has restaurants, shops, schools, kindergartens, medical clinics, SPA-salons, fitness clubs, children’s playgrounds and sports fields.
Twice a week a large market is held in the district, where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, olives, and a lot of delicious products. It’s also a popular place for shopping for clothes, handbags, towels and souvenirs.
Mahmutlar is connected by excellent public transport opportunities. You can take a bus easy from every main street. While passing communities like Kestel, Tosmur and Oba, the centre of Alanya can be reached in 20 minutes.
The beaches of Mahmutlar are made of sand and small pebbles. The entrance to the sea is rocky, which makes the water crystal clear. For ease of entry, huge gentle sloping entrances are hollowed out of the rocks. Many hotels also constructed piers into the sea that can be used by anyone.
Kargıcak is a green, sparsely populated area 14 km from the centre of Alanya. Here you still find large orange orchards and banana plantations. Construction in Kargıcak mainly consists of villa parks and private villas. More recently the district has begun to develop residential complexes.
Kargıcaks long beaches with small pebbles are a favourite place for a quiet holiday. In the north of the district you find a pine forest, covering the slopes of the majestic Taurus Mountains.
The sea, the forest and the mountains provide crystal clear air. Kargıcak does not have large shopping centres or supermarkets. But daily necessities can always be purchased in the small, local shops close to any residential complex or villa. On the bus that runs along the promenade, you can easy get to the centre of Alanya in some 30 minutes. And when you have walked enough along the bustling city streets, you can happily return to your quiet and cozy area.
